II Two electrons are in the vicinity of a proton. The potential energy of the
proton is
-1.6 x 10-25 J. (a) What is the potential at the proton's position? (b) If one of
the electrons is 1.0 cm from the proton, what is the distance of the second
electron from the proton?

Please explain HOW to answer this(especially part B)

There are two electrons close to a proton. The proton's potential energy is

the energy possessed by a body by virtue of its position relative to others, stresses within itself, electric charge, and other factors.

9.216 x 10^-8 N

q1 = 1.6 x 10^-19 C

q2 = - 1.6 x 10^-19 C

r = 5 x 10^-11 m

A source of electrostatic force is

F = k q1 q2 / r^2

F = (5 x 10-11)2 / (9 x 109 x 1.6 x 10-19 x 1.6 x 10-19)

F = 9.216 x 10^-8 N

Due to the nature of the charges being in opposition to one another, this force is appealing.
